Sonic and the PlayStation Heroes 5 Ch. 1

Chapter 1: The Opening Ceremonies


A fat man in a red jumpsuit stood at a podium. “Is that camera ready, yet?” The man, Dr. Eggman, asked.

A small snow pup, named Frost, nodded. “Yes, Dr. Eggman. It’s ready to roll!”

Dr. Eggman grinned. “Very good. Let’s start shooting the advertisement so we can invite some racers over.”

“Ok.” Frost said as he started the camera and aimed it at Eggman. “Three...Two...One...Going live now!”

“Greetings ladies and gentlemen! It is I, the great Dr. Eggman! Don’t worry, I’m not here to plot any evil schemes or anything, I am actually here to make a big announcement!” He clears his throat. “The fifth annual Ex World Grand Prix is about to begin, and we are looking for six teams who are willing to show us their air riding skills! The winning team of this competition will have bragging rights of being the fastest air riders in this universe, and the PlayStation Universe! The winners will also receive piles of cold hard cash, as well as loads of treasure for everyone in that team to split amongst each other!”

Frost smiled brightly. “Ooo, money and treasure?! Sounds amazing! The winners will be very rich and lucky! I already can’t wait to meet the teams!”

“The Opening Ceremonies start at 10:00 A.M. this Saturday at Metal City! If you want to participate, you must show up there before, or exactly on time, and have all the members of your team with you! Your team must also pay an entry fee! That fee is one Chaos Emerald per team. If you are up for the challenge, I shall see you at the ceremonies on Saturday! Dr. Eggman out!”

Frost shut down the camera after the recording was done.

“Ok, Frost. How would you like to be the spokesperson, and interviewer, for the race?” Eggman asked the pup.

“I’d love to, Doctor!” Frost jumped in joy.

“Very well.” He stretches. “It’s getting late. You go on back to your home and rest. We got a big day this Saturday.”

“Yes, sir!” Frost said as he went back to his home.

Soon, it was Saturday. The day of the race has finally arrived! Six teams had already shown up just in time, and with Chaos Emeralds to give to Eggman.

Frost stood in front of the big crowd of fans waiting to watch the race. Even people from the PlayStation Universe were tuning in on their TVs to watch.

“Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the fifth annual Ex World Grand Prix!” Frost cheered.

The crowd cheered loudly.

Frost continued. “It is official, we have our six teams who will be participating in this race. Our first team is one of our own. A team of heroes that have been saving our world from Eggman, and other threats, since day one! That’s right! It’s Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. TEAM SONIC HEROES!”

Everyone in Sonic’s world cheered very loud. “SONIC! SONIC! SONIC! SONIC!”

“The next team is a team from the Dragon Realms in the PlayStation Universe. He’s purple, and he’s fired up for some racing action. He is the one and only Spyro the Dragon! With his friends, Elora the Faun and Hunter the Cheetah, they form TEAM DRAGON REALM!”

The citizens of Avalar, the forgotten worlds and the Dragon worlds cheered. “GO SPYRO!”

“Our third team is from a beautiful, dreamy world called the Glade of Dreams! It is led by a creature that is very unusual, yet very useful, and awesome! I’m talking about the limbless thingamajig, Rayman! He, Ly the Fairy, and Globox the Glute form TEAM DREAMY GLADE!”

The people of the glade cheered for that team. “LONG LIVE RAYMAN! YAHOO!”

“Our forth team, as well as our final outside world team, is from the Wumpa Islands! This Bandicoot is crazy, Australian, and a real smash to hang out with. He's Crash Bandicoot, and he, his sister, Coco, and mentor, Aku Aku, make TEAM WUMPA MYSTERY!”

The people of the Wumpa Islands near Australia cheered. “WOAH CRASH!”

Frost smiled. “Wait, we still have two more teams to announce! Please calm down."

Everyone waited for the remaining team announcements.

“Our fifth team consists of two mysterious, shady figures, one who steals treasure, and one who looks almost like a copy of Sonic! They also have a new friend on board that they hired just the other day! Give it up for Shadow, Rouge, and Prickles! TEAM DARKNESS RISING!”

More people from Sonic’s world cheer. “GO SHADOW AND ROUGE! WOO!”

“And last, but definitely not least, is a team well known for being the masters of this fun sport of air riding! They are led by the legendary wind master, and the king of the air, the one, the only, Jet the Hawk! It’s Jet, Wave and Storm in TEAM BABYLON ROGUES!”

“GO BABYLON! GO BABYLON!” Cheered the fans of the rogues.

“Alright! Now that we have met the teams, we’ll be right back, after these messages, to start the first race!”

The TVs in the other worlds went to commercials, as everyone at the track prepared for the first race.
