Chapter 9: Sonic and the PlayStation Heroes vs. Lyric; Lyric’s Execution

Finally, after spending nearly a week collecting crystals, only to have them stolen by Lyric, the real battle was about to begin! It’s Sonic and the PlayStation Heroes vs. Lyric the Ancient for the fate of the PlayStation Universe!

Sonic, Spyro, Rayman and Crash stood tall, and clenched their fists while Lyric started slithering around them in the air.

“Attack, minions!” Lyric shouted.

“Pssh, really? You are using your robots to attack us instead of trying to attack us yourself? You are lazier than even Eggman!” Sonic laughed.

“Grr! You won’t be thinking that for long once I kill your friends with my venom, and destroy the universe!” Lyric said.

Rayman then started to question him. “I know venoms out there that are poisonous enough to kill someone in seconds! If you really gave the girls venom, they would have already been dead long before now!”

“So?” Lyric hissed.

“So why are they still alive? Did you even give them any venom at all?” Rayman asked.

“What?” Lyric thought for a minute, then turned to the girls. “The dog-thing is right! My poison didn’t work! But how?!”

Rayman grinned. “One, I’m not a dog! I’m a limbless thingamajig!”

“Whatever!” Lyric growled.

“And two.” He continued. “Let’s just say, Sonic told us about you before we came to this island. So I gave everyone, including the girls, an anti-poison lotion made from medicine leaves from my planet. The leaves can cure almost anything, and the worst your poison could do for them is knock them out for a couple of days. With the medicine from the leaves inside the girls, your poison can’t kill them.”

“That's impossible! A medicine from a leaf that can cure victims from my poison? Nonsense!” Lyric growled again.

“Not nonsense, it works! Just look at the girls. They are awake and feeling alive as ever.” Rayman grinned.

Lyric turned around, and suddenly noticed the poles that the girls were on are now empty. “Where are my prisoners?!”

“Right here, snake-face!” Tawna shouted.

Amy, Elora, Ly and Tawna stood together, holding duplicates of Amy’s Piko-Piko Hammer.

“Ok, Lyric. Prepare to be hammered!” Amy shouted. “Shall we deal the first blow, Sonic?”

Sonic grinned and nodded. “Ladies first!”

Amy then took a swing at a robot and smashed the robot into Lyric.

Elora and Tawna stood back to back and started spinning together, taking a surrounding group of robots out. “Yes!” They cheered and did a high-five.

Ly took her hammer. “This hammer could use some thorns.” She used her magic to grow strong, pointy thorns on the hammer’s base. Then, she swung it at the robots, piercing holes in their circuits.

Rayman smiled. “Alright! Nice work, girls! Now it’s the boys’ turn!”

Rayman then picked up Spyro, who picked up Crash, who picked up Sonic. Rayman spun then around and released Spyro. Spyro then released Crash. Finally, Crash released Sonic, and Sonic did a blast attack that had him spinning around Lyric like a speeding bullet, attacking him at every angle.

Lyric grunted. “This is still far from over!”

Sonic then looked at the crystals powering the robots. “We gotta get those crystals before they start up the robots!”

Rayman turned to Sonic. “Sonic. You and I can get the one on the far left.”

Spyro nodded. “Crash and I will get the one on the second left.”

Elora smiled. “Tawna and I got the far right.”

Amy continued. “And Ly and I will get the second right.”

Sonic grinned. “Ok. Let’s split!”

Sonic and Rayman went down their path.

Sonic used his spin dash on machines to open paths for Rayman, while Rayman used his limbless hands to pull down levers that were too high for Sonic to reach.

“There it is!” Rayman shouted as he grabbed the crystal. ”Alright! Your next, Spyro!”

Spyro nodded. “Let’s rock and roll, Crash!”

Spyro used his charge attack to hit targets that revealed paths for Crash, while Crash used his spin attack to knock rocks that were in their path out of the way.

“Alright! We made it!” Crash grabbed the crystal.

“Ok, Elora. You’re up!” Spyro shouted.

“Let’s get that crystal, Tawna!”

“Right! No time to waste!” Tawna said as she went down the path with her.

Elora kicked down some rocks in their path with a roundhouse.

Tawna pulled down levers, and pushed switches, to open paths.

“Sweet! We got it!” Elora said as she grabbed the crystal.

“Ok, Amy, darling. It’s all you and Ly now!” Tawna shouted.

“Right!” Amy replied.

Amy climbed up poles, and pressed switches, to open paths for Ly. Ly then ran into a big pothole, and used her magic to make a vine bridge for her and Amy to walk on.

“There it is, Miss Amy!” Ly said.

Amy grabbed the last crystal. “We got them all!”

“Now there’s one thing left to do.” Sonic grinned. “Let’s finish Lyric, once and for all!”

The entire team banned together, and started attacking him all at once, using all the energy they had.

After the team attacked him, Lyric finally got on the ground. His robot body was growing weak.

Sonic looked Lyric dead in the eyes. “Now to do what I should have done over a month ago. Goodbye, Lyric!” He started tugging at Lyric’s power supply, which would shut down his inner machines, and get him sick to the point of death.

“Wait. Let’s leave that to Mayor Fink and the authorities at the city!” Rayman said.

Sonic nodded. “Very well. We will have them deal with you, Lyric!”

Lyric growled.

Sonic then used his energy beam like cuffs to lock Lyric up.

As they were getting ready to head back to Bygone Island’s main town, the girls stopped them for a token of thanks.

Amy smiled. “We have something we want to give you guys as a way of saying thanks for saving us.”

Sonic looked confused. “What’s that?”

Elora went first by touching Spyro’s cheeks and leaning in to kiss him. Spyro’s cheeks turned deep red as his lips touched Elora’s.

Sonic saw, and blushed. “What?! Umm.”

Rayman knew he was next when Ly approached him, and bent down to his level. She then pressed her lips on his. Rayman was also blushing from this sudden move.

Crash was next. Tawna went to him and bent down to his level as well. She leaned him and kissed him. Crash too was blushing.

Sonic’s eyes widened as he watched what his outside-world friends were doing. Amy looked at him with innocent eyes, waiting for a response. It was his turn.

Sonic sighed a bit. “Ok, fine. I guess one won’t kill me.”

Amy and Sonic leaned in and kissed.

“Hm. Now was that so bad, Sonic?” Amy winked.

“Surprisingly, no. In fact, it was kinda great.” Sonic blushed a bit.

Amy giggled. “Boys.”

Elora, Tawna and Ly nodded and laughed.

“Ok. Let’s take this snake to justice!” Spyro said.

They then traveled back to the town and placed Lyric under arrest. On the day of the trial, Lyric was found guilty of trying to destroy the word twice. He was then sentenced to execution by shutdown of his machine body. On that day, Mayor Fink disconnected his power supply, and shut him down forever.

“Lyric is now disconnected for good! He is no longer a threat to our town!” Fink said.

Later that night, the entire town had a big party celebrating their freedom from Lyric’s evil. Sonic, Spyro, Rayman and Crash were the guests of honor.

“Congratulations on defeating that monster!” Aku Aku said.

“You did it, bro!” Coco shouted.

“Yay Rayman!” Globox cheered.

“Alright, Spyro! Awesome job!” Hunter said.

“Way to go, Sonic!” Tails and Knuckles shouted.

“Yaaaaay!” Sticks cheered in excitement.

“Calm down, Sticks.” Sonic said.

“Hey guys! The show is about to start!” Elora said, pointing at the sky.

A few minutes later, colorful fireworks started filling the sky.

Mayor Fink spoke up. “Hail to the heroes of the universe! SONIC AND THE PLAYSTATION HEROES!”

The town cheered loudly for Sonic and the gang.

“Well, despite the little rescue effort we had for the last week, I’d say this is the coolest vacation ever!” Crash said.

“Yeah!” Rayman and Spyro said.

“I agree. And now that the missions are done, we can spend the remaining time we have relaxing.” Sonic replied.

And so, for the next two years, Sonic, Spyro, Rayman, Crash and their friends had a wonderful, peaceful vacation together.
